Eight years ago I stepped into photography with nothing but a camera, a creative vision in my head, and absolutely no idea how to utilize the first to translate the latter! While it was an exciting challenge, it was still full of frustrations, anxiety, and wishing I could just learn #allthethings upfront without having to figure out the hard way what it was that I didn’t even know that I needed to know... ya know!?
In my head I could see what I was hoping to create but would spend my sessions feeling frantic- trying different locations, lighting, and settings until I just “happened” to get what I was hoping to achieve.
I spent the early years of my business consuming every educational resources I could and working hard to improve my skills with every single session and wedding. There was a lot of trial and error, big successes and embarrassing failures along the way (not to mention the money I spent figuring out what resources, websites, and gear were the right fit).
I had such a deep love for expressing creativity through my camera and serving people in a way they would remember for the rest of their lives… but continually found myself questioning my skills and ability to serve people best (hellooo, imposter syndrome!)
Over time I began to very intentionally evaluate my strengths and weakness, breaking apart what I needed to improve on and how to go about growing in each area I wasn’t feeling confident in. I began creating resources for myself and my clients that have truly transformed my passion into the vibrant, growing business that it is today.
Now, I want to help as many photographers as possible hit the “fast-forward” button by simply focusing on what works and avoiding the speed bumps I had to hit along the way.
I’m taking everything that I learned on my journey and putting it into these educational resources because it’s exactly what I wish I had when I first opened up that Canon Rebel T5i box 8 years ago. I would have saved myself SO MUCH time and frustration, now I want to do the same for you!
